Thanks for stopping by.
If you’re new to my website, I’m the author of over fifty romantic fiction novels, and a series of short stories I call  Flirts. I love to tell a story that sometimes makes you laugh, sometimes makes you cry, often has a surprise or two, but always ends happily ever after.

I live in North Texas with my husband, a rescued German Shepherd who believes himself to be the neighborhood goodwill ambassador (the German Shepherd, not my hubby),  a fifty-pound American Pit Bull who is convinced he's a lapdog.  Occasionally I get to puppysit my Golden Retriever  grandpuppy.  All dutifully sit at my feet as I write my next story.

So come on in, explore my pages, and see what's in store for you!

Three pounds in four weeks!

The new grandbaby weighed 7lbs 7oz four weeks ago - now - she's 10lbs 8oz - WOW - she is growing too fast!  I'd love to slow it down just a little! It is lovely though that unlike the previous grands, I get to watch this one grow day by day and I am very thankful that my daughter and her family now live walking distance to my house.

Projects are all coming along - I am on schedule with Sweet Devotion releasing in May. I have the Farradays releasing in French this month. That's pretty exciting, though I have no idea how to get the word out in France and Canada!

And as promised - here is the start of a new rehab project for my friend. I'll start with the kitchen - first photo is original kitchen - it was quite impractical. limited counterspace - the stove blocked access to much needed cabinet space - the hutch on the side wall was almost useless (original architect should have made it a pantry!) - and the laundry is in the garage.

First stage is to demolish everything old to start fresh - next - tear down that false ceiling that was so popular decades ago and return it to a full 8' ceiling.  This is as far as we've gotten. The third photo shows the hutch removed (that's where the laundry closet will be - though we'll move the garage door and bump the closet into the garage a bit - but at least access will be from inside the house!
On the health plan - guess whose having cataract surgery next Monday? I'm guessing my blog may be a bit late! Hope you'll forgive me.  We'll do one eye on Monday and then the other a couple of weeks later. I hadn't even realized I had cataracts, only knew that In order not to see things blurry I need my readers for everything from cell phones to seeing the food on my plate clearly.  It will be nice not to need readers AND a magnifying glass to read the tiny print on the back of supplement bottles LOL.  I think it will be fun!

Seems this is catch up on my health week lol - Accompanied my husband to the hearing aid doctor and had my own hearing tested.  Listening in crowds is still a struggle at times, but apparently I'm within normal range - overall hearing ability is 92% and I'm using 88% so not a big enough gap for hearing aids, yet, but I promised my daughter as soon as they'll be helpful I will get them - and I will!  It drove me nuts for decades that my husband and my mother were deaf as doornails.  I refuse to do that to anyone. On top of that the hearing loss was probably a large contributor to mom's dementia.  If we could have convinced her they wouldn't make her look old (a fear of her generation) maybe we could have delayed the dementia decline.  I'll take this as a public service announcement to say - if you have hearing loss, even if you have to beg, borrow or steal, get hearing aids!

Okay - that's it for me for the moment - will report back next week.
