Thanks for stopping by.  If you’re new to my website, I’m the author of over thirty romantic fiction novels, and a series of short stories I call  Flirts. I love to tell a story that sometimes makes you laugh, sometimes makes you cry, often has a surprise or two, but always ends happily ever after.

I live in the Dallas area with my husband, a rescued German Shepherd who believes himself to be the neighborhood goodwill ambassador (the German Shepherd, not my hubby),  a fifty-pound American Pit Bull who is convinced he's a lapdog.  Occasionally I get to puppysit my Golden Retriever  grandpuppy.  All dutifully sit at my feet as I write my next story.

So come on in, explore my pages, and see what's in store for you!

Definitely Feeling Better

The good side of feeling better is - well you feel better lol - the down side, you want to fix all the things wrong with your house lol

Actually, it wasn't an 'all at once' observation, it was more of a - 'it's been twenty years since we painted the house' observation.  Which led to: I should take the popcorn off the dining room ceiling.  That was a great idea, except that led to: While we're at it we should put some ceiling lights in - Old houses like mine the only light is from lamps plugged into outlets that connect to a switch. Now I have canned lights if I need them!

But that wasn't the end. As long as we're fixing the ceiling: We should fix the wall cracks (old houses move a lot in texas)  which of course led to: We really should paint this room. So here we are!
Most of the big stuff was shoved into the middle of the room - all the extras, paintings, tables, lamps, dining chairs were all shoved into the guest room.  In other words - What a Mess! LOL

And yes - all those white marks are where wall repairs had to be made. You see when we bought the house thirty years ago there was a dreary mural on the far wall with picture frame molding around it. I removed the molding, painted over it, but never repaired the wall. Ten years later when we painted the whole room again after installing the wood floors, we didn't bother to repair it.  I mean... who looks that close? Especially with all the mirrors on that wall.  But - the big crack down the middle - well that is only a few years old and pretty bad - so we went ahead and said: in for a penny in for a pound - and it's getting fixed. I'm also hoping it lasts another thirty years because I don't think I'm ever doing this again!

Which brings me to the next event - lol - We've been waiting for two months for the countertop guy to be ready to do the island countertop - well - today was the day! Totally unexpected but wow what a difference!
There are still key features missing: Doors to the island storage side - under the hangout is for holiday dishes and linens! Under sink cabinets - I want drawers that pull out not cabinets. The ventahood - hard to find white bell shaped that isn't loud as a freight train and weak as an asthmatic. And of course what to put on that far wall under the ventahood - thought a little color might be good - who the heck knows!  Oh and ignore the messy counters - I was too excited to share and too tired from being sick to clean!

On the health report, I am doing much much better. Still struggling with blood pressure thanks to all the meds and coughing, but we're talking night and day from two and three weeks ago!

So that's all the news that's fit to print today - and yeah - we had a glitch with the Barons and book three isn't ready this week, but I promise book three will be available by next week exclusively on my website.  If you want notice as soon as it's available - make sure to sign up for my newsletter at www.chriskeniston.com/newsletter.html

That's it for today! See you again next week! Same Chris time, Same Chris channel LOL !

So glad you are feeling better, Chris. THe kitchen looks nice. Good luck with the painting. My biggest problem with painting is picking out the right color.

LOL - I have - no less than 8 samples on the living room wall ! SO not easy! but I know that as much as I like the colors all these years - I'm also tired of how dark the rooms feel so looking to lighten things up without being too shocking for my very dated tan tile floor that we have NO intention of changing!
