Thanks for stopping by.  If you’re new to my website, I’m the author of over thirty romantic fiction novels, and a series of short stories I call  Flirts. I love to tell a story that sometimes makes you laugh, sometimes makes you cry, often has a surprise or two, but always ends happily ever after.

I live in the Dallas area with my husband, a rescued German Shepherd who believes himself to be the neighborhood goodwill ambassador (the German Shepherd, not my hubby),  a fifty-pound American Pit Bull who is convinced he's a lapdog.  Occasionally I get to puppysit my Golden Retriever  grandpuppy.  All dutifully sit at my feet as I write my next story.

So come on in, explore my pages, and see what's in store for you!

Enjoying the Unexpected

Fall has finally arrived in Texas. A week ago we were still baking in 90 to 100 degree weather. This week, my heat is kicking on at night!  I'm especially thankful that the summer melt is gone today as I head off to the Texas State Fair with my niece. Hopefully I'll have a few photos to share of the adventure - and the food LOL!

I'm afraid there's been little progress on the fourth Baron book - Just One Take, but we're squeezing in progress on the plot outline for book five Just One Taste.

Now for the unexpected - drove my niece to Austin for a couple of days. My cousin says there's a lovely little park near here. He was right - it's absolutely lovely and makes it easy to forget we were in a big city..

Beautiful right? So - my nephew who being only nine years old has the energy and enthusiasm of - well - a nine year old!  There's a trail. It's easy Aunt Chris. We can go down to the river. Well, I'm not sure easy is the right word, but it wasn't hard. A few cautious steps down the makeshift natural stairwell and voila- the river edge is truly lovely and worth the extra effort.

Still beautiful - right? Well - let's just say what goes up must come down is not so easy in reverse.  I was less than thrilled when my careful steps turned into - scrambling over rocks. P

Can you tell there is NO trail? We're now moving up rocks? For the woman who is allergic to exercise (hee hee) this is not a good thing.

And this - was only the beginning. Since I didn't bring my phone I have no photos of the BIG rocks we had to scramble over - well - I think when I have to hike up my skirt and lift one leg two feet up while grabbing onto a tree or rock a foot over my head no longer counts as scrambling, but why quibble over semantics?

Aha! my cousin sent me a photo of the big rock - do you see a trail there?? Nope!

Anyhow - I suppose the important thing is this gal made it up and back to the car despite those twenty pounds I still need to lose and a heart that doesn't like cooperating all the time. I will add the sofa was quite comfy the rest of the day!

All right - I will leave you now and get back to work but I'm curious - do you enjoy hiking?

You're right, it is a beautiful place to explore. But I agree with you, it doesn't sound like a hike I'd be making anytime soon. I refuse to turn the furnace on even though we've had frost a couple of mornings. But my husband broke down and turned it on yesterday...I love the cold, he loves the heat lol

I'm too short to climb rocks like those. When I was younger I loved hiking, but not now.

well I'm not considered short by women's standards - 5'7" - but - I may use that as an excuse next time LOL :) !
