My long weekend with a good friend drew to an end. The last couple of days were spent back in Maryland at National Harbor.  All of the locations we visited were new to me. The only down side to all the delicious food and good company, were the six pounds that came home with me uninvited! LOL.  I did manage to lose three of them already but I have a feeling the other three pounds are going to be a little more resistant – we’ll see.

So here you have a few more photos – but first – un update on the new series – still no release date but I was able to get a good deal of writing done on book four – so that’s something. I just wish I knew more about endangered Texas wildlife – all the research is slowing me down. If anyone is, or is related to, or knows an environmentalist, please let me know!

Okay the photos -  First off - I discovered Kettle Corn - and Love it. Can't go to the shores of the north east without having a 'lobstah' roll - delish! and you can't go to Pennsylvania without having a cheesesteak sandwich.  Seeing why a few extra pounds came home with me ? lol.

There were also some lovely and often curious sites to see. On our way to National Harbor we drove through a small PA town that I would seriously hate to have to spell out on a return address envelope LOL.  On the other hand I'm sure a lot of romance authors would love it!

The curious part is the sand statue - this Giant rises rather unpleasantly from the sand. I must admit I stared at it a good long time. And of course - more food! This time it was a Kentucky bourbon butter cake - awfully good and thankfully no taste of bourbon!

I'll spare you more food photos (though I almost added what I call the kitchen sink sandwich but just looking at all those calories adds inches to my hips! LOL)  - but I do want to share the harbor at night.

the first night I caught a glimpse of the ferris wheel at sunset and knew that the second night I needed to catch a photo - an absolutely amazing and peaceful sight. Oh and as a plus, ran into a couple from Paris and got to practice my French. Don't get to do that terribly often!

I shall leave you with this last photo - and maybe next week I'll have more kitchen photos!

My bucket list has both of those sandwiches on it! Lobster roll from the east coast and I have to get to Philly for one of their cheese steak sandwiches, they are one of my fav and I'd love to see how they are supposed to taste because I'm sure they are far better than what I find up here in Canada lol

actually - we went to a wedding in Philly several years ago and did a day trip into the old part of town and of course - had to try one of the two places that serve it but was a little disappointed - for starters - I actually like swiss chees on my cheesesteaks but that's not the original - and I like mushrooms on mine - that's not original either LOL. But it was tasty - just not what I expected!
This one was quite good just the same :)

you know - if you're ever visiting the US somewhere there's a food truck called Cousins Lobster - They have lobster rolls that are as good or better as what I had up north !

I know where Intercourse, PA is and loved visiting Lancaster and all the Amish stores. We (all six of us) were visiting my brother, back in 2004, who at the time lived outside Philadelphia, and before he married again. It might have been the entire family visiting (my sister & family and my mom). Glad you had a great time. Love the pictures.

glad you're enjoying the photos - had a really nice visit - and yes - Pennsylvania amish country is quite interesting ! I did a visit almost forty years ago - it was fun to go back - though I wish I could afford one of those handmade quilts!
