Thanks for stopping by.  If you’re new to my website, I’m the author of over thirty romantic fiction novels, and a series of short stories I call  Flirts. I love to tell a story that sometimes makes you laugh, sometimes makes you cry, often has a surprise or two, but always ends happily ever after.

I live in the Dallas area with my husband, a rescued German Shepherd who believes himself to be the neighborhood goodwill ambassador (the German Shepherd, not my hubby),  a fifty-pound American Pit Bull who is convinced he's a lapdog.  Occasionally I get to puppysit my Golden Retriever  grandpuppy.  All dutifully sit at my feet as I write my next story.

So come on in, explore my pages, and see what's in store for you!

Progress

Progress is slow but steady on the kitchen. I am absolutely loving how much light is in my kitchen now thanks to the sliding patio door.  Before, any time of day, I would have the kitchen lights on. Now, everyone can see clear as day (lol) without turning on a light - it's great!

the old floor is now torn up - the rotted sections of plywood will be replaced. It's amazing how much damage can be done from small occasional water leaks/spills. Also, about a year ago a neighbor of my mom's was remodeling and they were throwing out perfectly good sheets of plywood because they had 'staples' in them.  I brought home all five pieces. Hubby and friends shook there heads at me. The way the price of plywood had shot up I thought I will need it so now I have it - and voila - floor will be repaired with the plywood everyone made fun of me for saving LOL.

So - I still have to pick out a floor - which means running around town finding something on sale that I like - I always pick the best of what's on sale. So far it's worked out great through the decades of small projects here and there. I also had a friend drop off some of her paint samples from her house and so the wall color is picked. It will be benjamin moore paint color Revere Pewter cut down 75% - so the walls will be sort of white to keep the room light and just enough hue to pop against white cabinets. I'm pretty excited. I've had a yellow kitchen for almost fifteen years. It's time for a change.

Here's another photo of hubby having take out - we've moved our entire kitchen contents (microwave table is no longer in kitchen) into the dining/living room. Heaven forbid we have company there's no sofa space for sitting!

And I'm happy to report I've made good progress this last week with Book three Just One Dance. I've passed the halfway point so it's exciting!

I also had a dinner -- of course I forgot to take photos, sigh -- with a movie production person so I've got plenty of input for book four.  I'm still waiting for release dates on these but it will be wonderful.

Okay back to work!  Have a good week everyone! And I'm curious - what color are your kitchen walls?

Love the new floor! What is it? It looks awesome! Congrats on the plywood bonus!!! Our kitchen renovated in Oct. 2020 is S.Williams Coastal Grey. It's a pale grey, with a light blue undertone. Love it every day!

ooh - I love the idea of a light blue undertone as I'm going to shop for a bluish back splash! The floors in the photo with hubby are the old floors - they were the cheapest temporary floor I could find when we were sprucing up for my daughter's wedding five years ago.

Am visiting my daughter this week so hopeful to steal a minute to go floor shopping!

It's so difficult to choose what you are going to live with for the nxt 20 or so years after living with the old for so long. After renovating my kitchen 8 years ago and bathrooms last fall, I know what I speak of. Good luck.

Yeah - I redid the family room floors fifteen years ago - I'm till content with them but they're in the beige tone which make shifting to the current grayish tone for walls hard!

The things I seem to live with best is the wood flooring. Formal living got a maple color wood floor and I'll never change that! Upstairs play room got a mahogany wood vinyl - I'll never change that either - that plank vinyl is GREAT!

I love it when my “folly”, ie saving plywood, becomes a brilliant move! Go Chris!!

raising two kids as a stay at home mom I learned fast how to get blood from a stone! Even now - my new dishwasher is a $100 marketplace find. I'm sure it will last for years.
