Thanks for stopping by.  If you’re new to my website, I’m the author of over thirty romantic fiction novels, and a series of short stories I call  Flirts. I love to tell a story that sometimes makes you laugh, sometimes makes you cry, often has a surprise or two, but always ends happily ever after.

I live in the Dallas area with my husband, a rescued German Shepherd who believes himself to be the neighborhood goodwill ambassador (the German Shepherd, not my hubby),  a fifty-pound American Pit Bull who is convinced he's a lapdog.  Occasionally I get to puppysit my Golden Retriever  grandpuppy.  All dutifully sit at my feet as I write my next story.

So come on in, explore my pages, and see what's in store for you!

SLOW DOWN WORLD!

LOL. Life moves too darn fast! This has been a crazy world wind week. As many of you know, there’s a giveaway at Goodreads for my new release coming out Wednesday, Honeymoon for Four.  Marketing is not my gift so there was lots of back and forth on graphics and what not.

My daughter and grandson were visiting so that’s always entertaining. I just LOVE watching toddlers discover the world. Then mom had her first face to face appointment with her memory doctor. We got the news we already knew, mom had digressed to the next stage of dementia/Alzheimer’s. Considering how darn healthy she is, and strong, it adds to the frustration. On top of all that, had a new toilet installed that I hate – who knew you could hate a toilet? So this morning I had it replaced. I like my normal, old-fashioned toilet thank you very much! And now I’m late because I’m juggling the installers for mom’s windows and a luncheon appointment I forgot I had!

One of the downsides of being thin and being older is that at 75 degrees, rooms feel cold. My mom’s windows are old as dirt so it was time to get rid of the drafts.  That’s being done today – and of course, micro-manager me wants to be there. Those poor men don’t know what they’re in for!  Just wait until I tell them they can’t seal a single window until I inspect the insulation! LOL -

We’re also working on travel plans for mom. With the updated diagnosis on Mom, we’re pushing to try and get her to California to see her brother while she’s still pretty aware of who is who. See why I want the world to slow down? . I’m thinking what I want is a world with no phones, no television, and a month on a warm sandy beach – who’s with me!

I’m thinking Bora Bora would be nice. Never been and it’s on my bucket list!

If you could change one thing in today’s world – what would you change?

See you on the flip side!

Cell Phones - I'd make them so all they can do it is be used as a phone or camera - I would take all the internet connections away so that people don't sit at dinner in a restaurant scanning their phones or in the living room with family don't scan their phones, play games. We'd just have to live with the unanswered questions during conversations of how old was so and so or who did such and such or what year was whatever!

I totally agree I tell people and businesses all the time that I only use my phone to answer and hang up ! LOL

Wow, you sound busy! And I thought I was bad. I hope you are able to take your Mom to California and have a nice relaxing visit.
If I could change one thing, I'd ask for a cure for all these Covid viruses. We are still on lockdown, I haven't been able to see my Mom or siblings since last summer. I've started seeing our kids & grandkids recently, just because I'm fed up and need to see them. We do have our first shots, second ones scheduled for July. I'm getting very tired of the stay-at-home order and only being able to do essential shopping. Anyway, sorry for ranting. I finally made it over and signed up for the emails! Took my long enough...

rant away - it's frustrating for so many. We are fortunate to live in Texas where the restrictions have been loose and the sprawling suburban planning makes social distancing easier. My mom who is 86 refused to not see people. She took the attitude if she went she went but she wasn't missing out on a year of people's lives. As it turns out - she did indeed catch covid but was one of the blessed who was asymptomatic. If she hadn't gone to the doctor for something else we would never have known she had it. It's looking like most places in the world are starting to come out from hibernation - and according to doctor friends of mine, the virus truly has weakened and treatment has stepped up dramatically so I am hopeful that once we're back in the swing of things we'll only see covid crisis reappearing in the history books and our descendants won't have to deal with it until the next 100 year pandemic. Give your kids an extra hug when you see them - mine are getting tired of the strangling hugs but too bad LOL

Just what you titled this post - the ability to slow down without guilt. I think we all need to give ourselves a chance to slow down and try to achieve less in a day / week / month.

I have to remind myself to not look at my phone screen to try and get something read/finished whilst I am doing another task! It's too tempting to try and door more at one time.
